Infrared Photography of the West Highlands of Scotland

During a recent camping trip to Oldshoremore Beach, in the far North West Highlands of Scotland, I spent the afternoon taking some infrared photos with my full-spectrum Canon 1100D. I was using a standard Canon kit lens (18-55mm) and a Hoya R72 infrared filter.

After a little bit of editing in Lightroom and channel swapping the colours, here are the rather ethereal results. I’ve edited the infrared photos in various ways, I’m not sure which of the different styles I prefer most. It’s nice to have some variation, I guess.

Taking infrared photos of the West Highlands was an enjoyable way to spend the day. I quite like viewing the world through rose-tinted lenses.
