My brother-in-law and I went on a wee tour of Tormore Distillery, at Speyside in Scotland, to find out how Scotch whisky is made.
I did a little bit of drone photography, taking in the wonderful Speyside setting and the beautiful art-deco style distillery, which was built in 1960. We also got to follow the full malt whisky making process from start to finish. It’s really fascinating how malt whisky is made.
Tormore is one of the larger distilleries in Scotland, with the potential to make 5 million litres of whisky a year.
Tormore isn’t open to the public for whisky tours at the moment so we are incredibly grateful to them for allowing us free access to the distillery and store rooms with our cameras. Should you ever get the chance to go on a whisky tour, I highly recommend it.
I’ll be looking out for the new Tormore single malt whiskies that are due to hit the shelves in 2025, as well as their new visitor centre.
